supercharger for 1.4 16v

hiya guys,

remembers reading on here somewhere that someone had released a supercharger conversion for the 1.4 16v clio that took the power to round bout 150-160BHP which sounds v.tempting if the price is right...can anyone tell me what sorta work would be involved with fitting this sort of kit

does the ECU need to be changed? is everything bolt on or do existing parts have to be modified...if a serious problem occured could all the kit be removed so renault couldnt tell the difference from a warranty side of view...also what about if the car is also fitted with air con...guessing this is gonna be in the way?

Your looking at some seroious money and work for a supercharger kit there little chance or removing it for warently work unless your willing to work for free and have loads of free time.

The work to fit it well thats difficult to know for sure the site I found for the company who do the conversions was in German and I no spreken de German.

It would be similar to the Saxo instalation costs so ~£5k maybe £6 profeshionally done.

Instalation is easy realy just you run the supercharger belt of the engine which pressurisers the air then run it direct to the engine (if your talking low pressure) or run it to an intercooler. The drop some bigger injectors in there along with lower compression pistons or head gaster mod to lower the compression ratio (unless yor going to run very low pressure turbo). Then get an external ecu and a MAF sensor which can be used with a turbo car and your away.

Plumping it up you just make a plate out of metal and put the supercharger there maybe enven easier if u remove the aircon and use the mountings for that for the supercharger.

Not worth wile IMO best drop a 172 in there your looking at £750 posibly for an engine then add a stand alone ECU (for more power and to remove any instalation problems) and 1k fitting. So for ~£2.3k you can have 180 reliable hp plus you have more potential for over 200.

If you realy want a supercharger then best have a look on the Saxo forums and find out who fits them and give them a call about the work.
