Done a search, cant really find a straight answer.....

what is entailed in getting it off, with regards to the sub frame etc?

nay worried about a sump as i've got a couple of spare engines to get one off. + no more Colin McRae action without a sumpguard lol :p

if anyone who has done it can reply that would be super :p

Yeh subframe needs to be either dropped or removed to get it off. You might be able to get it off with the subframe in place if you can lift the engine as high as you dare but you'll need a hoist to do it obviously.

a jack under the bellhousing will lift the engine enough to get the sump off

Hairy muff I stand corrected. Only going off the book, not sure i'd be confident with jacking the bellhousing though.

o'rly? tried welding it in-situ but the slightest bit of oil left in the sump makes this very very hard...... + already had a blob of aluminum set its self into my hand...... (welding with Mig and pure argon not tig)
