Stone Chip Repair

  HyperAlloy Combat Chassis
I followed this guide and tried to repair a stone chip:

The problem is, as soon as I started the wet sand stage all of the colour started to run out of the paint I had applied. So now I have a repaired stone chip, but the paint in the chip is a completely different colour to the rest of the paint work :S I'm using genuine Renault paint for the car, which I made sure was mixed well. The final coat was left for 30+ hours before attempting sanding. Any ideas? And is it possible now to go back and sort out the mess I made?
