Steering wheel vibrations

  clio 1.2 dynamique
Recently got a new tyre fitted and after it was done I notice that on the motorway my steering wheel vibrated slightly, is this just due to it being unbalanced from the other three wheels? Also I hit a pretty big boulder the other night, no damage that I can see however the whole car seems to vibrate now! Is this a buckled wheel and would a professional refurb fix that?

Cheers Simon

Well, if they didn't balance the wheel properly when the tyre was replaced then it could be that - or, after you hit the boulder it could well have buckled the wheel slightly. Two of mine are dinged very slightly on the inside lip, and this makes the wheel vibrate. The tyre guy managed to balance the problem out though. As I understand it slight dings in certain places *can* be fixed, but I'm not sure how reccomended that is! Hitting the boulder could also have put the tracking out?
