Standard Top Mount differences?

After a closer read, I've found the link in this thread. Cheers all.

i use the kyb and not had any problems with them.

Local garage fitted these (KYB top mounts kits incl spacer nuts) for me but there is a big gap between the strut tower & the top mount (about 1cm!) a d the driver's side has a knock/sometimes a creak over undulations (didn't have noises before these and new shocks & springs were fitted)

I'm taking it back, what advice would be useful for them do you reckon?

I've reused the insert and small nut and top part from original dampers that has a recess for the small nut (keeping the new bearing and large rubber from the KYB kit) and no more noises!

The large spacer nut that came with the KYB kit is poorly designed and allows movement, causing knocking.

The picture above is not fully tightened but shows the separate small nut, insert and top part for reference 👍🏻
