Speeding up Outlook 2003

Any idea how to speed up the responsiveness of outlook 2003? If im downloading a load of mail and click within a message while more are still be downloaded the laptop will almost freeze the outlook window for 40 seconds before opening the link in the browser.

Its really starting to do my head in as it shouldnt be running like a bag of s**t on a laptop with 2GB ram and core2duo 2ghz.

Uninstall it?

Could try the "repair" function on the install disk, whatever that does.

Try running general windows performance tools and the like.

Could also download headers of emails only.
