Rsports near here, shall I just go there? I know they have a great rep selling cars but don't hear anything about the servicing side of things. I'm sure their spot on.

Just hear so many Cambelt scare stories on here. Want to be sure before I book it in! [emoji5] [emoji106]

Oh. I messaged Steve, and he came back with a price for cambelt change.

I noticed he always has "we just fitted new camblets", hence why I messaged him, in a lot of the adverts for the cars he's selling.

May be he uses someone to do belts for him?

Yeah he's done some bits on my car with CLIP. He's a good and very knowledgable guy. Would happily use him for anything like that.

I got an estimated price of 550 Inc aux kit. 170 dephaser. 170 minor service. Touch expensive but they do sound good.

Got a price of 780.
That's cam kit and dephaser and minor service. Not Inc aux kit as I had a full renault kit fitted 5k ago.

Seem a bit expensive to anyone else?

Seems expensive compared to Dan and SJM. I'm going to be taking mine there may be a 340 mile round trip, but from what I read his work is faultless and had a very high standard

Yeah. Dan's cheaper. Unfortunately for me it would mean taking a day off work to get done at Dan's, as I'm in Kent working Mon to Friday.
So I'd end up being worse off and annoy my boss [emoji14]
Two techs have a superb rep too though.

Dan's worth the drive. He did my power steering pump and full aux kit a few months back, he's very good and knows his stuff! Good prices too.

Can't help feel a little sick paying 640 odd for a belt when you can buy a 2nd hand engine for 250. Lol.

Just for a bit of feedback.... Had the car done at two techs. Service was spot on. Very nice guys, knowledgeable and professional.

Driven the car 230 miles home, and it hasn't gone bang. Lol, so I guess they did it right. Cars running very smooth and I reset the mpg computer and it's actually gone up by almost 2 mpg. Maybe timing was slightly off before?

I recently cleaned and painted the engine/inlet and it's still clean, no dirty marks or oil etc. Tidy work!

They loved the car and said how good condition it was, went over it with fine toothed comb for the service and all they could find wrong was a faulty bonnet pin, bonnet seal and AC only gets to 10°c [emoji3] so will sort these major issues immediately [emoji5]

Crank, crank bolt and end caps, dephaser, aux belt, minor service came in at 770.
They also checked what spark plugs last garage fitted for me, knew they were NGK just unsure if they had exact right model. They were.

Nice to know the cars has fine bill of health. Was MOT not long ago and they commented on how good condition it all is mechanically too.

Seen as your all from the area, do you know of a good place to refurbish alloys? Preferably near Rochester? A bit of corrosion on them so would need a good job doing! Will get them done in next week or so. Their the only thing letting the car down.

That's great, only 15 mins from my digs! Can drop it off one evening and collect it few days later.
Websites very good and they look a serious outfit!! They sound perfect.

I'm thinking of getting them to colour match the bullets to the alloys, I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Think it'd look good.
I'm going for a slightly darker shade than the standard anthracite.
