So after dropping the engine back in went to start the car and nothing. Cleaned the fuses in the engine bay and got it to crank for 2-3 seconds before it just stops. The immobiliser light is solid. I checked the ecu wiring and tested continuity on plugs 57 and 27 the wires twisted together going to pins 19 and 20 i think on the uch plug and there was no resistance indicating that the wires are okay. Ive checked all earths ect and tried the key reset. Pretty stumped on this one and being in the highlands theres nowhere close to get a specialist to solve the issue. Any help greatly appreciated.

You tried changing the key fob battery?

This morning I had both the solid red light and the fast flashing red light on the immobiliser, car worked perfectly yesterday then this morning nothing, neither of my keys would work, changed the battery in both of them, turned the ignition on and off a few times and it's fixed.

I got it sorted. I somehow plugged the carbon canister plug into the altenator... swapped them round and away she went!
