How does 1 cam control 16 valves ?

DOHC is pretty straight forward - inlet and exhaust.

Isn't SOHC usually only for 8v engines? Could be completely wrong but majority of SOHC i've seen r 8v

1.2 16v clios are SOHC, never worked on any other 16v engine thats been SOHC though!

SOHC is just the same except 1 cam controls both inlet and exhaust
