Slow pc

My sis in law has moaned that her pc is really slow.

Popped up and chucked spybot on it and cleaned it, also done a defrag.

What else should I do??

Its XP.

Its a few years old now, been getting slower.

Has got a bit better since I done defrag and spybot, just wondered if there was anything else easy.

Try disabling some programs that you dont use all the time using msconfig Link

A good format will do it some good.

get CCleaner. its free and awesome.

www.ninite.com is the easiest place to get programs.

Is it full of dust and over heating !? Could be worth popping the case open and having a look .. careful use of a vacuum cleaner might be required.

Failing that .. disc clean up, CCleaner, de-frag it .. make sure there's more than a few MB left on the hard drive, and if ALL that is OK .. double the RAM ?
