SHaring folders and files across home network help..

  Ford Fiesta
Hello all

Can someone please explain how to share folders and files across my home network. I have a PS3/ Vist and a Windows 7 machine and id like to access each others files easily.

I click on network on my windows 7 machines and it asks for a useram and password, I have no idea how to get it to work.

I am also running norton on both machines, not sure if this will need adjusting too?

Please help...

Thanks

Liam

user name is the same as your logon to windows.
on each machine you need to add the other usernamers to allow full control or read / write only.
right click a specfic foder share with people add it on both computers.
away you go

thanks for the reply. Ive sort of got it working and found the sharing folder. I then removed the password request in windows 7 and now both laptops can see each othrs sharing folders.

Question:- Does this mean anyone can view my files on any wi fi network i now go and join? and if so is it just the sharing folder they would be able to see? not all the c drive?

which leads on to the next question, can you not jus right click any folder, say my music and share it or do i have to move fioles into the sharing folders?

Thanks
