Hi there,

My first post, hello all, hope you're all well.

I need a new car and have my heart set on a 182. Is it worth me spending as much as possible on a mint one with low mileage like this for example:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif.../postcode/cm29dx/radius/1500/page/1?logcode=p

Or should I look at a higher mileage one for 2.5K with the belts just done. I live in Leyton, London and will mostly be using this car on weekends.

Cheers

I have a high miler (130k) and its a great car but I'm not too bothered about the body work (not the best) I only paid £1700. For that cash I would buy a trophy with 70k ish on it, least the residuals would be a bit better.

That one is expensive imo... mind you on here people think that offering a bag of Skittles gets you a minter

Yes thats a pretty rediculous price..............will no doubt be overdue on the belts, theres no such thing as a mint used car, bodywork wise it looks good, but i wouldnt be paying that for it.

Personally if it is mint (as can be for a used car) got good history and belts done I wouldn't say it was massively overpriced

I have seen traders on here for example selling simular cars for simular money without question.

I would say its a tad over priced but not much if all the history backs up.

Id be looking at a RB or LY at that price though, they tend to hold abit more of their value.

Infact 4k can get you a decent trophy, become a member there is one in the sale section

Steve is a seeling a nice RB on here for a similar price might be worth a look at, RB's are the best colour fact!

He has sold it...

I sold mine for 4k only a few months ago, good ones are becoming harder to find.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
It looks ok-

points to note- wheels are darker than usual, so have been refurbished.
Mileage 32k on a 4 plate- With FSH & Belts would be a 4k car, however needing belts & a POSSIBLE dephaser then nearer 36/3700 as they would be overdue by 3 years.

Give them a call to find out- I would prefer it without belts at the cheaper price to take it to a specialist.-

they have had that for sale for ages as well......

Rear exhaust mount on the left ( usual) looks as though its on the way out.

My mate bought a 182ff 23k from the same place a couple of months ago, it needed the cambelt done and the guy said his 'mate' could do it and wouldn't drop the price so he took into btm instead, so just go careful if the belts have just been done.
