Servicing - Stirling/Edinburgh

Just been on the phone to a couple of local Renault garages today to get a quote for my 24K service for the 172. The garage in Stirling quoted £183 and the one in Edinburgh quoted £324. Surely there must be some mistake or one of the garages is rtp?

Oh aye the more expensive garage reckoned that the service involves changing the cabin filter and the coolant - is that right?

The coolant is recomended every 4years same as the brake fluid...........on the Vee anyways............just had mine done

Admitedly ive not had my car serviced there, but theyve been good/prompt for warranty work?

What happened with them mate?

Been going there for years wouldnt trust anyone else he is VW Audi specialist but like to see Renaults he services quite a few 172s does an amazing job

Thanks for all the advice/suggestions. Unfortunately my car is a 53 plate so not sure if that ties me in to a Renault Dealership for servicing to maintain my 3yr warranty?

Seem to remember a post a while back that indicated under some new EU regulation that you could get your car serviced anywhere and that as long as they used renault parts it would still be covered by the warranty. Anyone know if that is right?

Yep thats right. AFAIK, warrantys are still intact as long as its a registered garage and you use proper Renault parts. It is EU regs.
