Hi there.

Im in need of some help from some of you brains on here.

I have an online VPS which decided to spit its dummy out and f**k up.

It was only running a wordpress blog which im not bothered about. What i am bothered about is some of the data i had in a database that the scanners where collecting.

Before it totally went tits up i managed to get it to dump an .sql backup in the root.

What i need to do is download this file.

My server has no httpd or apache working as i cant redo it without dropping the whole VPS and starting again.

Anyone know how i can get this backup.sql or FILE_NAME.sql off there ???

I appreciate all input. Im not totally clued up on this VPS stuff. Its just a hobby so im trying.

(Unix command line from your local machine) scp root@bonxy:/backup.sql /localdirectory

or

Use something like WinSCP or Filezilla to login and move your files back across

The first command worked. Thanks for your help mate.

Got to rebuild the bloody thing now. First thing ill be doing is turning the back-ups on. :)
