Sepang Blue Audi S5 New Car Detail

Hi guys, another new car protection from me, this time at Watford Audi, protecting a Sepang Blue Audi S5!

A few before shots of the S5; not majorly dirty, but completely untouched from the factory with perfect paintwork for once!

The car was pre-washed with citrus power, left to dwell before wheels being cleaned with various brushes, followed by the usual two-bucket method of washing, both minimising the risk of wash damage.

Some transport fallout was evident, with iron and tree sap deposits being fully removed without contact.

The majority of the car was then dried off with the Metro Blaster and the wooly mammoth towel, removing water from the usual crevices.

The car was then rolled round into the handover bay for the rest of the detail.

Wheels were wiped down with panel wipe, followed by GTechniq C5 protection.

One of these turned up half way through - the new BMW i8, which sounded amazing running on petrol!

Back to the detail, the bodywork was then wiped down and given two coats of EXO.

Amazing car, absolutely loved the colour and the pictures really don't do it justice as some of you may know!

Comments welcome, thanks for reading.

Love the colour, The paintwork genuinely needed no work whatsoever?? That's quite rare.

  Whichever has fuel
How long did they let you have the wash bay for?? The last two times I've been to audi, I was hustled out after 20 minutes. Barely enough time to wash the f**king wheels!

I love that colour though. I'm not sure I'd have it, but As a Colour, it's beautiful!

This was a very unique case...

The dealership prepared a car for the guy in March, messed it up, tried to correct it.. made it worse.

Quite rightly the owner rejected it and asked for a new one, so they said it's not getting touched when it arrives and pinned all responsibility on me before I touched the car.

Very nice! That colour is awesome.

How do you get these jobs?

A big mix but mainly word of mouth, this one was a recommendation from someone who saw the Lamborghini detail on Instagram lol.

Really? I try to plan it out as much as I can before I go in so they know it can't be rushed and I've never had anyone rush me out at any of the wash bay. Usually the valeters are stood around doing sod all anyway!

You could put up with the colour mate, not dark enough to show up marks all the time.

  An orange one
That looks stunning!

I wish audi would change their DSG gear lever though, it's like an 80's auto box "one above the other arrangement" with a stupid shaped gear lever. The BMW auto lever is fully electronic and always springs back to centre.

Not to mention that + and - are the wrong way round.

Why does Sepang always look blue in images?

In person it's purple like Imperial Blue!

I'm having issues. Is Mica Blue another colour?

The net is confusing me!

would this not benefit from a glaze or a light polish anyway?

Glazes are pointless because the Gtechniq sealants need sterile paintwork for the best bond. The paintwork on this one was literally perfect bar one very minor scuff, which I removed, so polishing would be a waste of time and would be removing paint unnecessarily if done properly.

I would always knock back to go down? And who the hell uses the stick to change gear in a Stronic box! Paddles!!!

Awesome me job, awesome car, awesome colour, absolutely incorrect amount of doors. Shame on the owner!

Oh dear! What did they try to do and do you have any pics of the f**k up?

also, do you have any pics of what equipment/products you take with you to these details? I took my stuff with me once and it almost killed me getting it in and out of a clio lol!

+1 on the backwards shifter.

Would look amazing in coupe guise, does that make it an RS5?

No photos because the last car was taken back.

Wow! I love Watford Audi.
The fittest receptionists i've ever seen.

They are unreal!

the RS designation is based on the engine power and body work isn't it? Not the number of doors? Could be wrong though.

But yeah, how do you get on with hauling the detailing gear in a clio lol?

No idea mate, just noticed that they don't seem to offer the S5 in coupe form, or maybe it was cabriolet... someone more knowledgable will be along soon!

I get on really well with it, only use the boot as well! Got a set layout I follow now haha, will take a photo next time I'm away, so next week I think.

Definitely the Purple/Blue i've been thinking about. It's on Audi's special colour list.

Nice! Definitely one of the best colours.

Have to say though that every Audi showroom is filled with black, blue, white and grey, they never put colours out like Sepang/Mica/Merlin Purple!
