Scratched Glass

The drivers side window on the Z has some light scratches in, caused by the previous owner putting the window down with some form of contamination on I should imagine..

The scratches never really bothered me much, until the other day. I was parked up at an event near me in a very open and dusty car park. The dust actually gathered on the scratches if that makes sense? It quite literally left me with lines of dust on the glass.

Can anyone recommend a product/process for me to try and correct this issue?

Try toothpaste, if not try using some cutting compound on it.

Is it glass or perpex?

If its glass nothing but the following will make any difference, and even then if it's deep I personally wouldn't bother

@.Andy. I wouldn't even bother with this - I tried it and it a; takes forever b; is dusty as hell c; can only do so much.

As long as it's actually not just streaks (lines of said contaminant rather than actually scratches), I'd get the window replaced, personally. Depends how much it really does bother you.

3m do a good glass compound http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/3m-glass-polishing-compound-cat16.html but its not cheap its good for the odd wiper mark but anything beyond a fine surface scratch as jd said its a new window.
