rstuner help please

Hi.

Henk sent me some new ECU software to install before ron98 map.

my software is 6100-****
He sent
8200-7208

Now from what I have read this will break the ECU if I write on it.

Did Henk send me the incorrect version? He said I need to update it to this so I can use the new map.

I don't want to do it and have a dead ecu.

And having to wait till Monday will piss me off.

Oh for heavens sake.

He requests a Screen shot of ECU and then sends the wrong stuff!

This means im going to have to wait till monday :(

I have paid him so if you send me one its not bad i suppose.

I got the software wrong its this one:

I havent saved the Cal file yet.

I will do that in a moment though.

And yes i can also send you a screen shot of the Write ECU screen that shows its NOT ok to proceed if thats what your after.

Give me 30 mins and i will be back with the above.

Ok here is a bunch of stuff. Too much info is good :)

Here is the Original RST and Cal file names:

As you can see the Filename of the Cal is for a 172. Which is odd.

Is this helpfull?

Also bloody thing.. This morning that bottom ABS Code wasnt there. and now it is so it has an issue :/

Personally id make sure you have backups of original data then go ahead and write them (rst first)

Never understand why he changes things so much lol.

Well i have the Cal and the RST backed up to laptop and USb stick.

Whats odd is the new cal is useing the same version software as the new Rst yet is also named as a 172

I am also hoping that its the wrong version. As i did send him a snotty email :p

If i did decide to write it anyway i will wait till i am at home, with a charger plugged in so that if it does die on me (the ecu) im not stuck at work lol

Wasn't too rude. Plus i did point out HIS help guide does state that if its the wrong version its NOT correct.

So sending out the wrong version number to customers even if its correct is silly :/

If he does decide that he doesn't want to help i will just get a refund by paypal. Simple

Had to do some right groveling lol:)

You are right though if its been sent incorrectly even after sending screen shot etc its not to good tbf.

is it very bad idea to try and write this 8200 file on it? What will happen if its incorrect? Will it accept a reflash using the backup? After all it is simply a computer with flash able memory lol

That could be the reason why he sent that File then.. Mabey Renault used a 182 ECu and stuck the 172 firmware on it :? As his Cal file is for a 172 but has the 8200 firmware number

You sent me a screenshot with 7300 software and not 6100-****. Based on that information I sent you the correct version.

ARGH.

It installed fine on the ECU.

But after when I did the Cruse control test i found that the damn rocker must have been knocked onto ON.
So now that doesn't work.

I have put it into rest mode and now am redoing the entire process again.

Sigh

No need for that. It will come on by itself after some time.

Ok cool.
What's the idle supposed to be after cal file put on?
its idling at 800rpm

drives the same. Kick is still there as far as I can tell too.

Did I do it wrong?

I wrote the ecu file.
then the cal file.

Hmm.
Well mine isn't.

Sometimes it jumps from 800 to 1000 then back down.

I did have the ac on though if that matters?

Well.

Some feedback on the Performance map.

The car feels like it has less torque, Pulls less than before, and lower down power is much less.

Motorway MPG has increased (as far as the computer can tell, I will know at end of next week when i refill)

Just seems lackluster for the money i have spent...

It should feel the complete opposite.

from what I have read I should be able to feel the car performance increase.
but I have to say... its worse.

I'm going to remove the induction kit in the morning and reinstate the stock air box. It sounds horrible now lol
