Renault Sport Exhaust's drive on by?

for those who have the latest edition of car (issue 555) you may have read the little article at the top of page 34.
it reads:
'Renaultsport Exhaust's feature a component that ensures they pass drive by tests - then it disintegrates for a full window wobbling soundtrack, Clever'

whats all this about then?

I read this too.
I have noticed my exhaust is much, much louder at almost 11,000 miles than it was when I got the car brand new. A lot of 197 owners report the same so perhaps there is some truth in it!

The older RS' have this too.... it's called corrosion!

Cool if it's true though.
