Renault megane 1.4 starting issues.

  clio 182
Ok i know its not my clio but is my dads megane, its on a 2003 ( one with the big bum ) lol started having a few issues with it starting it does crank over fires then dies does this about 3 or 4 times then fires normaly and runs fine.... from what my dad says its after he makes short ish journeys ... if it was an old car i would say it sounds abit like bore wash but iam unsure .. could this be a faulty tdc sensor?
any help is greatky appreciated

Faulty TDC sensor is the most common cause of this - it'll need the updated "blue" sensor and new fly lead fitting to the loom. Parts will set him back around £65 from a Renault Parts Dept or about £48 from a decent autofactors. Wires will need soldering to the loom though so tell him its not a plug 'n play installation.
