Removing powersteering 172Cup, little different

  RS RIP
Has been done and discussed before, but there is a seller on Ebay which sells the pulleyset/bracket and belt to bypass the powersteeringpump , and then just uses the 172 rack .. I asked him about this, reply here :

"We have used the normal 172 rack with a pipe joining both sides of the piston together with a small amount of fluid in for lubrication and this has worked fine for us."

Normally the 1,5dci rack is used when wanting this.

This mentioned above will make the job much easier to do, but what are the cons of using the same (172) rack guys ?

Too heavy ?

it's a similar decision on MK1s. F0xy and Whiteley are both using williams racks without PAS as this seller on ebay has described. The reason is that the manual racks are 'slow'. The williams rack is a faster rack (less turns lock to lock).

I've tried to get quaife to make some, but there are no manual quick rack available for clios and so if you want quick steering, the only option is a PAS rack.
