removing cams and mapped ecu

hi all , am hopefully buying a 172 cup on the weekend , i currently have a 182 cup packed car with cams and mapped ecu on , the car makes good power 195bhp with the cams in so would like to take the cams out and replace with the standard cams and a standard 182 ecu , can the ecu be taken out and unlocked to work on my 172 cup or is it not worth the hassle !! would this also involve changing the belts on both cars as the 172 cup has had the belts replaced about 7 months ago ? cant seem to find anything in a search , also are 182 cup and 172 cup the same suspension/bolt spacing as i would like to swap my leda's over as well !! thanks

with the parts and labour involved in the swap, you'd be better off buying another set of cams

182 cup 60mm bolt spacing, everything else is 52mm

What's wrong with the 182 ?

Yes, the cam belt needs to be removed to get the cam off the head. :S

cheers , will have to source a decent set of coilovers then and leave cams in there , thanks
