Relocating Air filter

I am just wondering if anyone has relocated their air filter. I have a k&n 57i kit fitted but it is stuck at the back of the engine sucking in hot air from the engine bay and the way they describe to put the cold air feed is right over the top of the engine bay (not being very cold).

Anyone know the best way to resort this or has done it before?

P.S. anyone know where to get a intercooler for a 1.2 tce?
