Red flashing light on dash won't start :(

Help please
I have my 172 track car which has a fia switch, push button start & the barrel next to it where the key part goes.
The push button gave up so I have changed that & put a new one in but now I have the red light flashing when trying to start
Any ideas how this can be fixed or what it can be?

key not recognised, switch ignition on and leave it for 30 seconds see if it clears.
does it crank for a few seconds and then stop?

No it doesn't do anything mate no cranking I could try leaving the ignition on for 30secs tho it's doin my head in haha

Problem is tho I don't have a central
Looking button as most the dash & parts is taken out :-/ will try some stuff tho & see how I get on thank you
