Recommend me a laptop

  Honda & VW
Our Laptop is approx 4 years old and is starting to feel slowish, every since i downloaded the latest Internet explorer it seems to struggle even more at time. Also the battery life on it is useless, if we take the wire out for more than an hour MAXIMUM it will die on us. I am guessing that having it almost constantly on charge does not help matters.

We literally use it for browsing the web and uploading photos onto it from my DSLR.

Budget would be around £400

Anyone who knows their stuff able to suggest what i should be looking for as to be honest its all gobbledygoop to me.

thanks in advance

Seeing as your use of it wll be light, there's plenty to choose from at PC World. I got a new one recently, and apart from maxing out the processor and RAM in an attempt to make it as futureproof as possible, I just went with what I could afford (use mine for web, email, video and photo editing).

This is the one I have...

...but this one would be enough for you I think...

Had mine for a few months now and can't fault it, stable, good battery, good keyboard, good trackpad, good screen, good sound.

Someone will be along in a second to call me a cnut for not advising you to get an Apple OMGbook for three times your budget...LOL

If that's all you use it for, get an iPad.

You can get an adapter for your SD card and bish bash bosh, it does all you wish.

You want to be in here mate http://outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdfh1&l=en&s=dfh&brandid=7&fid=1212

Dell's factory outlet FTW - I just got one of those Inspiron 15R, i3 processor, 4Gb ram, 500Gb HD for 329 quid. Still advertised on telly as 429 for 3Gb version. It was classed scratch and dent, but can't for the life of me see where.

Next day delivery, minimal packaging and bumff. Windows 7 rocks, but probably only because the laptop can cope with it - it was a hard fought battle between my old laptop and XP.
