Rear Left and high level brake light MK2 PH1

Hello guys, I have a Clio 1.2 MK2 PH1 and I think there is a bad earth to it - When I indicate left the brake lights flash on and off... Also the Rear Left and high level brake light itself do not light up at all when I push the pedal. My Dad - An electrician - said it seems like a bad earth what do you guys think/recommend? I can get a video if required, the connector for the lights is a little damaged but it does seem like an earth due to all the brake lights flashing on/off in time with the left indicator. check the rear earth points and the connectors to both rear lamp units. If no problems observed move back inside the car following the loom all the way back to the UCH.
