rear brake lights

my cars recently been in the garage for work done and i've noticed when putting it back on the drive, the brake lights don't come on until my foot is pressed fairly far down on the pedal.

the brake pedal switch/sensor (not sure which) has just been replaced because the garage said they had to stamp on it worse than it is now. but i got them to look at it but they said it seems right to them.

any ideas what this could be? im sure they should be coming on earlier than they do.

There's an adjustment on it iirc, I think there's a thread on here somewhere, might be in the guides section.
