Re-attaching rear badges (Renault and sport)

Guys

the person I bought the car off decided to remove the badges off my tailgate. what should I use to put the badge back on?? I don't like the idea of gluing them back on!

double sided thin foam tape, it's not to dissimilar to that used in glazing windows TBH

I reckon it would... but between the lettering you'd have to remove the foam tape.

4mm sounds maybe a little too thick? I think I've used 2mm previously. Once attached to the boot, the badge should almost be touching the panel to resist any lifting.
