Are radio head units backwards compatible with (slightly) earlier Clio's?
I've just swapped the standard radio head unit from an 05-plate clio into a 54-plate Clio. Both head units are standard Radiostat and virtually the same but the slightly newer version from the 05-plate car doesn't seem to be talking to the 54-plate dash display.
I can hear the bleeps as the radio is asking for the security code, and the buttons on the head unit are backlit as usual, but there's no radio data showing on the display. I know I've connected the radio up as-was because I drew out the connections on a pad.
Is this a compatibility problem? Is an adaptor or re-wiring required?
I want to bring the newer version of head unit into the car I'm keeping since it has aux-in capability and doesn't have an annoying delay when you switch it on like the earlier version.
