Radio going off when loud

The simple solution would be to not have it loud but I would like to ignore that for now.

my headunit which is Sendai (don't ask it came with the car) turns itself off whenever the music is loud for whatever reason.

when I say turns itself off the HU still has power as it's lit up but restarts itself, this has only started in the last few weeks but incredibly irritating as it can do it several times a day!

Is it fubar'd or can something be done to repair it?

im not wanting to upgrade headunit as I would rather put the money to a new car fund

Self protect mode mate, pushing it past it's limmits. Turn the bass down a little and it should be ok

Ah right I didn't realise! It never used to do it for whatever reason but it must be struggling now!

When I say loud I only mean like 2/3 of the max volume

Ahh i thought you meant right up to the top! As said bass can cause a lot of strain/heat on an amp which would cause it to self protect. Some components could also be degrading internally!
