Will R25 be next? What exactly do they refer to? My number plate is R24... would love them to get to that and then it would be worth something

Yeah, the R26 was their 2006 F1 car chassis and the R27 was named after their 2007 one.

That's a Renault 25 from the time when Renault cars were numbered 5, 8, 9,11, 19 etc. Now they all have names unless it is s limited edition like the R26 Megane which was to celebrate the year Renault won the F1 World Championship. The R27 followed suit although Renault did not win the championship. The R28 did not materialise and rumour has it that the R29 could be a special edition of the Twingo.

I do find it odd that they've named them after the F1 cars.

It just seems to confuse their own dealers, who when asked about R26/27 tell us that they don't sell Formula 1 cars.

Before that it was the R202
