Quiet PSU.

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Hi, I have just bought a new Tower (As you probably know from all my recent help threads ;))

Im really happy with it, bar one thing. The fans are loud as heck! Its like I have a 747 taking off in my office! Now this was mentioned in every single review of it, so I did anticipate it, however, none of the reviews give an option to a replacemen.

The PC In question is this one:

All the specification says is 300W PSU. I've found this one? IS this a suitable replacement? Are there any cheaper alternatives?

Another option was to reduce the fan speed in BIOS, but, Im having trouble getting into BIOS Mode on Windows 8. Im using this guide:

http://operating-systems.wonderhowto.com/how-to/access-boot-menu-and-bios-windows-8-0139059/

But when I get to this screen, UEFI Settings isnt there?

Just quit buying all this Microsoft lark and buy one of these with student discount. It's like a Ninja.

You could even keep your additional screen if you must....

Not sure about the one you posted about, it may be fine. Never personally used one.

But i know if you want pure silence from your psu, the seasonic fanless ones are simply Fantastic. Think the 450watt full modular one is around £60.

Thats literally 10x more than Im willing to spend on a rig to browse forums and knock one out on.

You haven't experienced knocking one out to its full potential until you have done so with the main event being displayed on 27"s of iMac heaven.

I dont need pure silence, I just want it a little quietter if possible. TBH Didnt want to spend £35, let alone £60 if i could help it ;)

Fair enough. How about one of them eco type ones where the fan shuts off most of the time when its barely in use?

Agreed. Most likely be CPU fan or graphics card fan (providing you have a beefy GPU). Powerful PCs almost are always loud, just like cars!
