Quick question re: canon 400d

and mate you got a f**king deal there! I paid £489 for just the camera and kit lens 3 months ago.

also the batteries are lithium ion and dont have a memory so charge and use as you like. you can also get good cheap ones off ebay for £5, last about half the time but good as a back up

As said about 90 mins for a full charge, but get another battery too. I have got a Hahnel (sp?) one for my 350d and it has the same performance as the canon one for a fraction of the price.

Wow, the quality is amazing, but a bit complicated to use. The 55-200 lens is massive, I look like the paperazi with that thing on!

One thing i'm surprised about are the lenses are not electric, you have to move them by hand.

Looks like i gotta alot of learning to do! Is there a easy guide on the net about on how to use it?

Get a stirlingtek battery for it 1700mah so lasts over twice as long as the canonit was about £7 for 2

The crash course in photography sticky at the top of the forum would be a good place to start, in conjunction with the camera manual.
