Questions regarding exhaust system

Having bought my Clio 182 in April I have thought about upgrading the exhaust sysem. However I am bothered by one thing - Didn't Renault increase the power from 172bhp to 182bhp by playing around with the manifold and exhaust system? Thus does having a new exhaust system fitted mean I may lose some of the extra 10bhp gained from the 172?

Please discuss! (or point me to a thread if this has been discussed before!)

The exhausts are different, yes. You'll be buying one for your 182 though, not the 172 so the exhaust will upgrade your standard system.

So if I changed the manifold to an aftermarket version, would I actually see much of a differance or has Renault got all it can from the Manifold?

You won't see a great deal of benefit putting an exhaust on any clio tbh, it just for sound and looks. And anything looks better than the standard 182 peashooters.

And you won't be changing the manifold just cat-back theres no benefit to that and I don't know of anyone that makes an over the counter one to speak.

Ok now we've got that out the way, does anyone recommend a certain exhaust for performance / future performance potential?
