Pointless Bulb?

I was changing my sidelights for bluevisions and noticed that there appears to be a bulb serving no purpose in my headlight?!

There's the indicator, then the xenon and then the "pointless" one, followed by the sidelight.

The only thing I was thinking was for the mainbeam but then I thought that was dealt with by the xenons?

Am I just being stupid?

Mainbeam bulbs m8. Separate from the Xenon unit.

Thats the main beam the xenons stay on aswell i put bluevisions in the main beam and side lights lots better now

cheers i don't use the mains much so there's not much point changing them for bluevisions, but the sidelights are much better now
