  2004 1.2 Dynamique

post pics of...

* Front speakers
* Component kits
* Door card builds

also were they hard to fit, and how much did they cost?

  2004 1.2 Dynamique

Thanks mate, i really do need to get this done, looking to spend about 100 quid on the component kit, then if its not too hard to fit il do it myself if not have to take it to source sound or sumwhere round my area that will fit it me

£100 on a component kit? your better spending ya £100 on decent co-axials mate.... need to be looking at around £160+ to get into a good component setup...... infinitys are my personal choice but there are other very good setups

£160 is still in basichalfordsland.

£400 is about right.

if i put 2 speakers in my front door cards, shall i wire them to the amp or the head unit, also, once iv fitted them, shall i get rid of my 6x9s all together?

  Mk2 Ph1 1.2 8v

ditch the 6x9s... and if youve got an amp for the components then use it, assuming the amp is good (nice and clean with low THD), if its just a cheap amp then you might just be better running them off the headunit, as good components are useless off a crap amp...

i had some infinities, and they were absolutely awesome speakers. only problem was they rattled my mk 1 doorcard so badly :(. got the red n white sony co axials now. 40 quid, but they look good n they give me some extra noise :)

roamer - these are fairly decent for under £100!!

JoelDee - get a set of comps, wire one side to a channel each, then bridge the rear 2 channels (if 4 channel and if amp can bridge) into a sub in the boot - what amp to you have? BTW on coaxials there is only one input, not like you have to use 2 channels for it. same with comps, unless you go active (not needed yet!!)

Final_maxim - that noise is distortion! you could have just sound deadend your door card to stop the rattles and it would have impoved the sound

was just general rattles from the bass. pocket at the bottom rattled even after tightenin to f**k. sound deadened the actual door card? aint seen that before

what a load of tosh! :eek:

Focal Access range at approx £120, very good for the money, as are the Alpine SPS-171A http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3337http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3337

If they have to be 13cm, I would go with the focals, if you can squeeze in 17cm, I would go with the ALpines.

Agreed mate. My Infinity components only cost me £110 and they are so good.

Focals are really good, PSG are really good.

Theres plenty in the £100-£150 range.

My infinitys came from Halfords BTW

smokey can you get me a link to the ones you have please mate? how much did u pay for them?

  2004 1.2 Dynamique

right i need some answers!! iv just rung up the place where i had my sub and amp fitted!! Im gonna go down on friday for a component kit fitting, say if i pay 100 for the kit, how much roughly should they be charging me just to fit the kit, because i dont really know much about this, so i dont wanna be ripped off

Final_Maxim - well, the door card is ratteling, as its hitting a hrad surface, normal sound deadening will stop sound levaing/ratting door skin, the door cra dstill going to hit the sound deadening and make a noise, try draft excluder on the dorr card to stop rattels ( ive got both dynamat and draft excluder on my door crads - works well as it take the ring that i fouind tha cards had)

JoelDee - why not have a go at doing it yourself, if you get in any troubles, you can ask questions, or then take it to a fitters!

Agreed again! I got Alpine SPR-135As about a year ago when they came out for £100 and they were fan-bloody-tastic! Search the back of Max Poo etc for good deals but measure the depth of your door cos the magnets on decent components are HUGE! A good set of components, sub and amp or two is all you need...bin any boy racer 6x9s etc.

I agree. Infinity components are the way to go.

Ive just bought some 13cm Infinity Kappa 50.5CS for £110 delivered!!! - http://thebassbin.co.uk/shop/product/products_id/1285.htmlTHEBASSBIN - Awesome price when you check out other sites prices. (Just noticed theyve actually put them up from £100 to £120 - So £130ish delivered)

They are the uprated versions of Infinitys standard 13cm components, which cost around £80 at most places.

The site also has links to all the manufacturers websites on the product pages, which is great for corroborating specs.

Not installed them yet - Will fit them this weekend hopefully but should sound fandabidozee.
