Pipe near air box

Ive got a Phase 1 172....there is a smaller tube coming out of the big tube which leads from the airbox to the top of the engine.......what does it do?

Ive searched a few threads but im still none the wiser......cheers

Oil breather pipe IIRC.

Nope that pipe is connected to your idle control valve.

Red = Oil breather

Green = ICV

Its the one you have marked red but my airbox is different......is that a phase 2?

Yh that's a ph2 airbox. But the pipes are the same

You sure will? i was told the pipe that comes from the induction elbow on the ph1 goes to the icv?
