PHOTOSHOP B&W BACKGROUND

as above i have seen a few pics where peoples cars are in colour , however the background is in black and white, iv just taken a few pics of my brother in laws new baby and would like to do a picture like this, any help would be great cheers all

Select the background and then de-saturate

Ctrl + Shift + U

alternate way..

copy the pic and create a new layer...desaturate the whole second layer then cut out what you want in colour..(ie revealing the colour of the first layer under the second)
