Phase 1 Throttle Bodie measurements

I purchased a Phase 1 TB today and measured the inlet side and outlet side, Inlet 64mm round. Outlet is 63mm across the Horizontal centre, and 60mm across the Vertical centre so it Oval shaped on the back side, is this difference to make up for the spindle and throttle plate to keep flow even, can is the Plenum inlet shape on the Phase 1 the same as this?
