PH2 to PH1 front end conversion

Hi there been signed upto the site for a little while but never really posted, by the time my renewal comes up I should have a 172 the thing is though I really like the Ph1 front end but my insurance company won't touch me on any car over 10 years old so has to be a ph2 or 182.
Ive had a search and it seems to be a mixed response but is it possible to just swap the parts over (bonnet, slam panel, headlights etc) or is any fabrication work involved if there is I won't end up doing it!
Anyone done this personally or pics would be great thanks!

most people do it the other way round i think mate with ph1 front end and put on ph2 lights and bumper on the back. i have never seen it the other way

Yeah straightforward enough mate but who on earth are you insured with? That's bizarre!
