ph2 172 drivers drive shaft

Hi, the inner cv boot has a small hole in it. I've done a search and it would appear you can't replace the cv boot you need to change the complete drive shaft, is this true?

could i not just use a ph1 drive shaft which is a single piece?

or even a ph2 172 cup drive shaft?

mine went last month 100 bucks for a new one hour labour not too bad yeah you ve got too change the whole shaft apparently its a sealed one piece unit

Just spoke with K-tec and they say i can put a 172 cup drive shaft inplace of the shity one thats on there now. will just need to put the abs ring on
