Ph1 172 speedo sensor removal

This is doing my head in. Its faulty, and I'm trying to get it out to clean or replace it, and it wont budge at all. I can slightly turn it, about an 8th of a turn, very minimal, but it wont budge. Its on the gearbox.

Is it a turn and pull mission or just pull it straight out or are there clips that need to be released?

nevermind, got it out. combination of pulling at different angles and slight turns and it popped out
