Ph1 172 Gear Knob. HELP!!!

Anyone got any advice on removing the gear knob from a ph1 172. Its the original aluminium ball type one.

Tried everything, pullin/twisting, wd40, putting spanner underneath and hitting very hard with hammer, cutting with hacksaw - was desperate by this point & didnt get very far, drilling... It just wont budge

please someone help...

Get a rubber gripper thing on it, they have them in B&Q, as it's rubber it won't screw your gear knob, they are adjustable as it's just a strip of rubber & a handle thing.

Leave it standard, best way.

Less is more.

I just wanted to get it off to put another standard renault one on. Old one was really haggered up by previous owner.

did it in the end - hacksaw for a long time and tore it off. replacemnt looks clean and new.....
