PH1 172 Driveshafts still available

  PH2 172
As most PH1 172 owners will know, the OE items 8200027881 or reman 7711134954 (LH) & 8200027842 or reman 7711134459 (RH) have been unavailable for some years..

However shafts are still available from GKN & SKF.

These are the correct length for PH1 172 which had a narrower front subframe than later PH2`s, and are such are not suitable for 172 Cup.

Total length 640mm LH (fully compressed) & 734mm RH.

The GKN Spidan part numbers are 24688 LH, & 24689 RH.

GKN Lobro part numbers are 304959 LH, & 304960 RH.

SKF part numbers are VKJC3221 LH, & VKJC 3220 RH.

Various other brands are available, but GKN & SKF are name brands, and GKN was rumoured to be the OE manufacturer.

Prices vary wildly by up to £70 per shaft, so shop around.

These SKF shafts from Belgium is the best deal including UPS UK delivery I could find for SKF`s at date of posting.

This is a cross reference list with other manufacturers ( I cannot guarantee it is 100% accurate)

If you require PH2 172 Cup shafts, they are available from Shaftec R209AL (LH) & R209 (RH).

Shaftec says R209AR is 740mm RH, so we can buy GKN Spidan 24689 cuz they says its is 740mm leght too here: https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/spidan-901539.html

So, i have a clio k4m with jc5 gearbox (pnp) and i ll install the clio 172 hubs (54mm) + 172 cup wishbones (more caster) + modify my subframe (same as ph1 172) to have the same 8mm outer (wishbone) per side like cup subframe, so ill need use the 172 cup driveshaft right?

Just to confirm, GKN Spidan and NTN are the OE manufacturer
