Paying a Photographer - How much?

  Turbos.
Hi Guys,

I have a few mag features lined up for my NSX when its complete, but in the past when featured they aren't particularly helpful in providing photos or a PDF version of the article which would be nice for prosperity...

This time round, with the amount of money myself and my dad have chucked at the car, i want to get some 'proper' uber cool photos done of the car. It will also hopefully work well for my attempts to get some sponsorship to run it.

It will be done at Dunsfold in Surrey (Top Gear circuit). I will of course provide food and shelter... just wondering what a typical day rate would be for a photographer? If anyone is interested please PM me your rates.

Cheers

Rob

you will be looking at a minium of £200 plus travel probably mate, well thats what i would charge as i have made that in an hours worth of studio work before. if you want someone cheaper mate i have a friend who is pretty decent. i could pass on the word

i get a bottom rate basic pay of £400 a day... plus expenses on top...

if u pay my travel expenses and i will come do the shoot for free aslong as u give me a ride in the nsx lol!!!

Out of interest, what sort of pictures are you after? Full on photoshoot with sunction mounted shots, chase-car shots, conventional track shots and static stuff?

Not good enough myself, but just interested in what would be involved in such a thing. Chase-car shots look brilliant if done well but obviously you need a photographer and driver for those sort of things.

A few examples, might be a good idea to know what you are after to make sure you get the right photographer for you. If you can give whoever some ideas of what you want it will make sure you come away with what you were hoping for...then hopefully they will have a few creative bits of genius as a nice surprise for you as well.

Although I imagine time might be an issue, particuarly if you have a full-mag shoot going on at the same time.

Yeah, cool shots there!

Hoping for a range of shots really, both static and moving. I want something that will be a bit 'special' but at the same time don't want to spend a fortune. Not too much to ask... lol
