pas pump whine/replace

does anybody know the price of getting a pas pump for a 182 replaced. i know the belt is only £20 to replace so thats not too bad.
the car whines when cold for approx 30seconds and during that time if i move the steering wheel the whine changes tone/pitch.
also, as it only whines when the engine is cold is there anyway a garage could confirm its the pump without leaving the car overnight to cool and then listening to it in the morning.

i can send you a refurbed one for £150+vat (exchange) 2year warranty too (a new one from renault is £230+vat IIRC and only has a 12month warranty!)

I got mine done, genuine Renault pump and labour for £280.

ok cheers fred. ive got a warranty which includes steering pump failure etc. jut wanted to see if the cost would exceed the claim limit. so i may be sneeking in a claim before the warranty is up.
is there anyway to see if the pump is on its way out when the engine is warm. as it would be quite difficult for me to drive to a garage and explain that i have a problem with the pump (possibly) then there to be no sign whatsoever as the engine is warm.

not really, look for oil on the belt, or jack the engine up and check for play in the pulley
