Painting Steelies? yay or nay?

Hi all. just a little thought;

I've got a mk1 ph2 1.4rt in dark blue. Would it look absoluetly gash if i painted the steelies white and left no covers on them so it was just the steelies?

I've seen it on a Pug 106 round my way which is white and it looks mint.

Anyone done it/got any pics/comments?

normal spray paint should be fine as long as you prep thesurface properly. Make sure you give them a really good sand down and clean, a few layers of primer, sand that down so its nice and smooth, a few layers of white and loads of laquer to protect the surface. Also give them a good coat of wax cos white wheels are a nightmare to keep clean lol.
