can i use hammerite smooth?

you need very high temp stuff. Manifolds (especially valver ones) will glow red they get that hot.

halfords do a matt black high temp spray.. used this on mine and its still looking good

do u think u wuld need temp proof spray on a plastic rocker cover? as in thinking maybe because its plastic it wouldnt get that hot ?

Are you talking about the inlet manifold or exhaust manifold?
