I saw an Albi blue, with the YELLOW interior pack t'other day. Crazy fucker.

Yeah the yellow interior pack on any other colour than LY, is just plain wrong... :dead:

They offered that as an option, but dropped Xenons...go figure!? :S

On the subject of xenons, I also bet 5p that they were dropped due to Renault headlamp washer designer guy being off with man flu when the front bumper was designed ;)

Or shitting a brick when he saw it, and refusing to work on it.

They simply lost too much money on replacement 182 washer jets to make it financially viable on the 200 ;)

Thanks for all the info guys; very helpful.

On the topic of interior packs, is there one that comes as standard or does it depend on what colour paint you go for? What would you recommend with RB?

It's just standard mate unless you spec a pack, such as yellow id, carbon etc.

I recently ordered my Clio 200 which is due for collection next week. I umm'ed and arrr'ed for a long time about the recaros and eventually decided not to go for them. Fine, they cost more to buy separately but you are adding the best part of £1k (or 1/15th of the car in my case) as an option. Great if you think you will be using it on the track, I'm sure they will be fantastic. But considering I expect to do no more than 10k miles in 2 years, I just couldn't justify them. Add the wear issues and it made my mind up.

For me they just didn't add the value for money factor that I required. The standard seats do the job well enough anyway and my car won't go near a track and will be kept in a tight garage.

  RB 182
Unless you're gonna track it, Recaros are pointless! The standard seats are excellent

The other thing is im sure they'll be pretty hard? The Cup chassis is such a bone shaker with the standard seats id hate to feel it in a harder seat!!

Last thing, if you've a gf you ferry about in it, they will not stop moaning about the hard ride... no inuendo intended!

The Recaro's make it feel special, best option on mine....:approve:

Get the recaros as KMB said they make the car that little bit more special, but dont let us peer pressure you :D The seats alone cost £1050 each from Recaro so cheap at almost a 3rd of the price with subframes.

They are not that hard and im yet to get a bum pain after almost 18k miles and some pretty long drives. The seat is the part of the car you have the most contact with and its one of the main features of the cabin. Top buy if you ask me and one of the best features of the car. Dont listen to all the tight asses talking about 1/15th of the value blah blah. Whats next albi blue, standard wheels, cup and you have saved 2.5k and have a dull car.

Treat yourself.

i hope you dont feel pressured into getting them??

Of course they make the car more special but they come at a significant premium. Some may think it worthwhile, others may not. I thought about it long and hard and simply couldn't justify them. Will I come to regret it? Maybe, but I know in my circumstances they just weren't worth it.

Let's not go down the route of you accusing me of being a tight ass when you own a 200 Cup ;)

Recaros and bluetooth were a must for me, much like the cup suspension and spoiler however the suspension is alot harser in the 200 than the 182 IMHO.

Is it just me or are am I right in thinking that all the guys hating on recaro's are whipped?

being single ftw.

being single ftw.

That never crossed my mind. I pay for the car so I have the car how I want it. Infact, she won't even be insured to drive it.

Recaros were a nice to have, not a necessity.

I'd get 200, Cup Pack, Speedlines and Recaro's.

1) Because that would be my preference
2) That would be the most sought after spec when it's resale time

A 197 / 200 without Recaro's is like a 182 with no Cup Packs imo. You'd be happy with it but you'd always be wanting the Cup Spoiler / Splitter! To the point where you'd end up buying them! (I personally couldn't give a toss about the wheels / suspension but you get what I mean!).

Upgraded Stereo's won't make a difference IMO come resale, so that's just a personal pref. I wouldn't be bothered.

I know what you're saying Roy, but should mine ever get to a point where they are looking worn, then I'll simply pay the £400/£500 to have them retrimmed in leather. Still makes them cheap seats at less than £1500 all in. :)

Exactly! Also Recaro sell complete recovers for the seats at about £300... I'd spend the £500 for a retrim to see an extra £1000 on the sale price over one with Pov spec seats.

Another point is that all these seats suffer extreme bolster wear... Have a look at Integra Type R's with their Recaro's... some are only 5 years old and they look awful. Covers and careful is the way forward... My RST Recaro's were original and were mint, they were 20 years old!

Surely it's a case of Recaro's bad quality not Renaults... these seats in every car I know of have all had issues... TTS, S3, R32, RS4... reports of sagging, wear etc.

LY yellow 200, cup packs, speedlines, recaros.

As steve said, not only will you be over the moon with it, it will be sold before you've finished the advert, when the time comes.

Dont see the problem with the 200 Recaros being Yellow!

I actually prefer them to my grey ones.

What floats one's boat obviously doesnt another but that doesnt make us right or wrong.

That is the the one thing that annoys me about the 200!!! YELLOW Recaro's!!?? WTF! I love the seats but the yellow centre's are rank... I guess you don't see it once you're in them so I'd deal with it (Or get the re trimmed!).

lol ever though of becoming a Renault salesman? "I'd like the Recaros but I'm concerned about the wear issues". "Nah man don't sweat it, they're all s**t. They fall apart in all cars!". "Well in that case, SOLD! I'll take two of those, add to cart"

Not everyone wants them, and are you sure about the resale being a thousand pounds more? Perhaps, but I doubt it, and definitely not if they've worn through to the foam when the tyre kickers turn up ;)

I know I wouldn't buy a 197 without them. Re-sale terms they are sought after no matter what way you look at it.

To be fair if I opted for a 197 it would be a 27 anyway.

Lol, I've always wanted to be a Car Salesman but CBA to work Saturdays and BH's so I'll stick to Recruitment!

I'd of thought you'd easily get your money back on them yes... Nothing will help a "tyre kicker" actually buy the car, but the amount of times I've gone through adverts for 197's skipping the ones which do not have Recaro's!!!

Big Bolstered seats are going to wear... no matter what you do! So it's the price you pay imo for that sort of seat... show me a 3 year old Bucket seat which has done 60k miles which is still in mint condition!?

I'd prefer a set of worn Recaro's than a set of mint pov spec seats... worn cloth makes sweet FA difference to the driving experience and it'd cost £500 max to sort out... No Recaro's have a massive affect on the driving experience and at the going rate for Recaro CS's on the bay it would cost over £1000 to sort out! lol.

I like them, others don't see their value, oh well... I think not having them though (whether you like them or not) will restrict your target audience when it's time to sell... unless your car is in better condition / cheaper leaving enough cash in my pocket to purchase Recaro's!!!!!!!!!!

Hah

If there was a cup packed 200 sitting in a compound June 2009 in gw with recaros, ac and speedline available within 2 weeks I would have taken it. I have all the extra a cup can have I even have ac.

  Clio 200
the recaros are awsome, will make it easier to sell it on.

10k miles in and the 2 of them have already been replaced.

To make matters worse the back broke on the passenger one, Garage ordered in the part - took 6 weeks, they dont have the tool to replace the back of it so they are taking the seat out sending it away to a specialist to get it fixed and then refit it. lovely 4 weeks without a passenger seat
