Oil sump removal

  330i. E30 Touring.
Yeah, as above. Fiddly fucker.

Just be really careful not to round any of the bolt heads off.

Once fully unbolted, wiggle out past the subframe.

  A special one.
It's not a case of Un bolting it and it will come off.

You need to Un bolt the upper engine mount, Jack the engine up and put a bit of wood in the gap.

Once you've Un bolted the sump it's a bit tight because of the oil pump.
I think I might have even loosened off the sub frame bolts to get a bit more clearance.

My subframe is off at the mo, guess this is a simple job got some ARPs to fit.

Is it best to use a Renault gasket?

Managed to get the ARP's fitted and the sump back on this evening. (I've been flat out at work) as @Phase1sr said loosen off the subframe then lift the engine. Makes everything a lot more accessible as some of those sump bolts are a bloody pain in the arse!

Keyweyed crank pulley is also on. So roll on the supercharger come January!
