Northampton, Duston mainly...

Recently I've been seeing a lot of nice Clios around Northampton, the most recent of which was within the last few hours where I saw loads of them around the Duston area. Saw a 182 Cup in silver with a CS sticker in a window I believe looking rather nice, then a blue one parked up at a house a few streets away, then a 197 right near to it in silver. Also within the last week or so:
Williams at a pub, can't remember what it's called, The Romany I think last Friday, about 9:40pm.
Think I saw a red valver in the town centre some time last week.
Saw a blue 182 around near Kingsthorpe a few days back
Think I've seen a silver 172 floating around too
Also pretty sure I saw a blue ph2 V6 somewhere near Abington.

Plus a few more around. Just putting this up because I've never really seen more than one or two around before.

Would've posted these a bit nearer the times but have been too busy with exams. Anyone off here??

the blue 172 cup nextdoor is mine, and the 197 is steve@wests, my dad.

you'll probably see a mk1 clio with anthracite valver wheels on at my house too, thats my bros. yes we're all slighty renault mad lol

After speaking to a friend from sixth form apparently he knows your little brother, the one with the anthracite ph1 turbines on and has something to do with his name being changed due to being born a week later or something crazy! Anyway, it was nice to see so many clios in one spot! Also rather Renault/Clio mad, as demonstrated below:

'Fraid not, that was back in Feb! Was good stuff.

His name's Richard. Used to have a green mk1 clio, currently has a megane, and wants a valver now. Can be a bit annoying. I'm sure it will ring a bell!

The 197 was the first I've seen properly too, and after seeing it in the flesh I must say it looks rather nice!

you've done well to get a valver at 18 mate, how much is your insurance etc? Curly really wants one also!

Wow, don't think he told me that! But awesome, your godfather had the first valver in Northampton, at least that's what Rich said. Shame about all the beamers now though

Insurance is about 1300-1400, plus monthly interest and bits TPFT with my mum on the policy too, with her as occasional social use only, and me for social and commuting so it's all correct. May sound quite steep but I know people who pay far more for horrible fiestas and similar, plus it was only a few hundred more than my 1.2 would have been when renewed. Took quite a while to find it though, most companies wouldn't let me on it, even some performance specialists/student specialists wouldn't allow it! It's worth it as far as I'm concerned! Just need to get some bits sorted out on it after I've got some money raised over the summer.

And that would be awesome if the chance ever came up, cheers!

yea thats a bloody good price considering your age etc. what insurance company is that with? ill point my bro in that direction, see what it comes out with. what mods etc you got going on it?

Admiral, but elephant, bell, ecarinsurance etc were also pretty good. Only mod on the car at the moment is an induction kit, I prefer it that way really, especially with the exterior. If funds ever permit or my engine goes I want to get a williams lump in there though! I've wanted a williams for ages but considering they're a higher insurance group than the 172/182/197 etc I wouldn't have a hope in hell with it, let alone actually getting one.

What's the insurance(s) like on all of your beasts?

aye, keeping them standard looking is the way forward with cars imo

you'll be surprised, if you keep your NCB up, insurance will be affordable..ish on rs clios. im paying 1600 for my cup, 20, 1ncb f/c. its come down about 1100 since i insured last year when i was 19 0ncb!

will (curly) is on dads policy, so doesnt pay too much.

197 is a company car.

you'll be surprised, if you keep your NCB up, insurance will be affordable..ish on rs clios. im paying 1600 for my cup, 20, 1ncb f/c. its come down about 1100 since i insured last year when i was 19 0ncb!

So at 19 you were paying 2700 for it? I suppose considering it was on your policy that's pretty good, and now it's cheap. Looks rather nice!
